Resources
We share available German language resources for parents, children, and for studying in Germany.
German Language Resources
At GSSB, we focus on supporting our students to build a strong foundation in understanding German language and culture. We encourage our students to use the (free) resources listed below to enhance their language skills and to learn more about specific topics.
Language Resources
The “German Enrichment Page” by the Twin Cities German Immersion School features digital German-language resources for optional at-home activities. The information on this website is designed to help parents and students find resources of interest, no matter your level of German.
Die Maus
The award-winning 'Sendung mit der Maus' is a show that combines entertaining animated stories with short films about how to make things. The smart phone app (Android, IPhone) has many stories from past episodes that are a great supplement for bedtime reading.
Podcasts
The Germanic-American Institute podcast brings you an interesting mix interviews about transatlantic relations, German culture, and insights into the German language. Their “Storycast” section features short stories, poems, fairy tales and a wider variety of other texts completely in German.
Study in Germany
Do you think about studying in Germany, but you are not sure which college in Germany works best for you, or how to apply for a student visa and what kind of scholarships are available? The “Study in Germany” portal by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research provides helpful information on living and studying in Germany.
