Registration Dates

Registration will take place during the following time frames:

We may accept new students after the official registration period or after classes started. Main criteria are available classes for the students and the skill level.

Registration Instructions

Use this link to register and refer to our step-by-step registration guide if you have questions. Note: The “school id” is 2132.

Registration will be open at 10 am online on registration start dates listed above. Please register as early as possible as this will help the registration team with ensuring a smooth placement process.

Important data to provide and review during registration:

  • Contact information. A current cell phone number is required for each parent.

  • Emergency medical information and pediatrician information must be on file.

A registration fee is collected as you finish registration of your first child.

IEP

If your child is on an Individualized Education Program (IEP) in his or her regular school, please indicate this on your online enrollment form under your child’s “Applications” tab. Also, please provide the principal with a copy of the IEP documentation before the beginning of the school year.

Invoice and Payment Instructions

Once your placement has been confirmed you will receive a invoice by email. Tuition varies by grade level and the number of children participating in a family. Financial aid is available on a needs basis. See Tuition Schedule.

Please pay the invoice on receiving it and no later than the indicated grace period to avoid a late fee.

Payment Instructions
  • Log into the Sycamore registration application with your family credentials (ID and password created during registration). The school ID is 2132.

  • From the blue area on the left, click “My Accounting”.

  • Click on the “Summary” link underneath.

  • Click the green “Payment” button next to the outstanding total balance and follow the steps on the screen.

  • Click the tab “Invoices” to see a list of previous and current invoices.

Registration Confirmation

Please note that a completed online application and confirmation of full payment constitutes acceptance of your registration. You can contact the registrar if you have doubts.

Packets with class assignments will be e-mailed at the end of August / beginning of September to all students with a confirmed registration.

Preference for Returning Students

We guarantee classroom space for returning students who register and pay by payment due date for returning families. We do our best to accommodate all returning families, but cannot guarantee spaces for siblings (in the majority of cases this is not a problem). Please note that siblings have priority over students of new families.

Age Requirement for Preschool Students

All children entering our preschool class must be 4 years old by August 31 and toilet trained. It is recommended that they have previous preschool, playgroup or day-care experience.

Parents of preschool applicants need to show their child’s birth certificate or passport on the FIRST day of school as proof that the child meets the age requirements. Failing to provide proof of age will result in the loss of the place in the preschool program at the German Saturday School Boston. Tuition will be refunded according to our refund policy.

Sprachdiplom DSD I and DSD II Students

If your child wishes to continue their studies of German beyond 9th grade next year, you need to register your child by April 1.

Acceptance of registered students for a Sprachdiplom class will be contingent on teacher recommendation and a homework assignment (you should have received a recent communication from the vice principal explaining the requirements for these classes).

Alternatively, a 10th grade class is offered for those who either are not interested in or do not qualify (yet) for the DSD 2 program. If it turns out that a student cannot be accepted into a Sprachdiplom class, and does not want to attend 10th grade, the tuition payment will be reimbursed upon request (for other refund policy, see below).

A reduced tuition is due for current DSD II Students who are continuing with their DSD II program for their second year because of the shorter duration of that school year. See Tuition Schedule.

Refund Policy

Withdrawals must be submitted to the registrar in writing: registrar@gssb.org. Tuition (minus any applicable additional and transaction fees) will be refunded as follows:

Late fees, registration fees, bounced check fees, and Payment Plan fees are non-refundable. The non-participation fee, if paid, is refundable. If a student is expelled from school due to a disciplinary incident tuition will not be refunded.
